Angela has managed the Global Organic Textile Standard certification program at Oregon Tilth since 2016. She assists new clients in the certification process from the beginning of manufacturing through to finished product and every step in between. Concurrently, she and husband, Garth Kahl, operate Independent Organic Services, Inc., consulting for companies seeking organic certification in all the food sectors. Angela serves as the vice-chair of the Fiber Council, Organic Trade Association. She is also the co-founder of Fibrevolution LLC, with the primary focus of reviving the bast fiber industry in the Pacific Northwest (linen/fiber flax and hemp). Angela is trained as an organic processing, crop, social systems and GOTS inspector. She lives on an organic farm in Oregon’s coast range, raising sheep, cows, hogs and growing fiber flax and blueberries.
